The Chinese bamboo: Preparation in the dark – an excerpt

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

It is said that there is a very special variety of bamboo in China. If you sow a seed of this type in fertile ground, you have to be very patient. Indeed, the first year nothing happens: no stem deigns to come out of the earth, not even the tiniest shoot. Neither does it in the second year.

Self Limiting Elephants

Monday, January 4th, 2010

An interview with Dr. Jane Goodall

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Here is the first part of a recent amazing interview with Dr. Jane Goodall by Bill Moyers for PBS. It was inspiring to watch. Dr. Goodall followed her dream by going into the jungles of Africa at a time when such expeditions, especially for a woman, were unheard of. Her compassion for both animals and people alike have led her to tirelessly travel the world, speaking on the importance of environmental conservation, on following dreams, and on a greater spirituality that unites us all. I hope you enjoy this interview.

Friday, October 30th, 2009

A few days ago, I had an interesting talk with author Olivier Clerc.  Amongst other things, we discussed the impressions we form listening to the daily news.  More than often these impressions paint a gloomy picture.  The media seems to have a talent for collecting the most negative sides of humanity and presenting them in one large dose.

There are also events taking place on the planet that could be signaling a new, positive trend.
